In today’s digital-first world, wealth is often stored in places we can’t see, touch, or truly control. But for believers, unease about this may not just be fear, it may be the Holy Spirit prompting you toward wiser, lasting stewardship.
1. You Feel Uneasy Despite “Secure” Accounts
If small glitches or headlines easily shake your peace, it may be because your trust is in numbers, not in Christ.
Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I give you… not as the world gives.” Real peace doesn’t come from the market.
2. You Don’t Know Where Your Money Really Is
Most digital wealth is stored in accounts and systems you don’t control or fully understand.
Proverbs 27:23–24 reminds us, “Know the condition of your flocks… riches do not endure forever.” God expects us to be hands-on with what we steward.
3. You Rely on Systems You Can’t Control
Remember this, banks, apps, and platforms can freeze, change, or crash at any moment.
Psalm 118:8 says, “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.” If your access depends on man-made systems, it’s not secure.
4. You Sense the System Is Fragile
You see rising debt, digital control, and instability, and you can feel it in your spirit.
Proverbs 27:12 says, “The prudent see danger and take refuge.” God gives discernment so we can prepare, not panic.
5. You Long for Simplicity
All the apps, passwords, and constant updates aren’t simple, they’re distractions.
Hebrews 13:5 calls us to contentment: “Be content with what you have.” True simplicity shows we trust God, not technology.
6. You Want to Leave a Legacy
Digital accounts can fail, but you want to leave something lasting.
Proverbs 13:22 says, “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.” That means you want to pass on something lasting and real, not just numbers on a screen.
7. You Want to Stay Spiritually Awake
When life feels easy, it’s easy to drift. But wealth should never dull your alertness.
Matthew 6:19–20 warns us: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth…” Let your finances reflect eternal priorities, not just earthly convenience.
Is this a Wake-Up Call for Stewardship?
These signs aren’t about fear. They’re about faithfulness. If they resonate, it may be time to rethink where your treasure is, and how you’re stewarding it. Gold and Silver may or may not be part of the answer, but shutting those feelings down is not the answer.
